First thing is CLARITY

CLARITY :- You should pronounce your words clearly and correctly. You must talk distinctly and slowly. Don't mess up things in too much speed. Clarity of expression just is the aim at all times.
BREVITY :- Don't keep talking for too long and your message must not lost in a sea of words. The message must be kept as short as possible.
PRECISION :- An oral message becomes more effective when it is precise and concise. let me give an example to make it easy:- It is better to say 'cut down costs ' by $100 instead of saying 'reduce costs'.

WORDS SHOULD MEAN CLEARLY WHAT THEY ARE INTENDED TO SAY !

RIGHT WORDS :- First of all, you should know the meaning of the words that you are going to use in your speaking. Some of the words have multiple meanings while some others carry different meanings for different persons. Just be sure what your words convey to a trained listener. E.g. City, town and metropolis are three different words and care should be exercised before using them.
AVOID HACKNEYED PHRASES AND CLICHES :- Some people often use hackneyed phrases and cliches like 'you know', 'I see',' what i mean', 'isn't'. AVOID THEM.....! Such phrases interrupt the flow of speaking and obstruct the quick grasp of meaning besides causing boredom. Once you stop using them, appropriate words will come to you with a little effort at articulation.

UNDERSTAND THE LISTENER :- You must understand the listener first before talking. Talk according to the listener's level.
NATURAL VOICE :- You should use your natural way of speaking .Some people use a foreign accent in order to look sophisticated. This reduces the effectiveness of communication. REMEMBER most efficient speakers across the world are those that speak with a neutral. So cultivate a pleasing voice and natural style!
LOGICAL SEQUENCE :- Before speaking, different ideas to be conveyed should be arranged in a logical order.
CONVICTION :- You must have conviction in what you says. Careful understanding, sincerity of speech, and the intelligent planning are required to build that skills.
